Key Responsibilities
Management AccountsPrepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts in a timely manner.Post and review key journals, including those for payroll, depreciation, intercompany transactions, foreign exchange adjustments, accruals and prepayments, and work in progress (WIP).Support monthly performance reviews with departmental heads by providing insightful variance analysis.Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly reporting packs for Group consolidation.Purchase LedgerOversee the purchase ledger, ensuring all supplier invoices are processed and recorded accurately and on schedule.Sales LedgerManage a high-value sales ledger, maintaining robust controls over billing accuracy and revenue recognition.PayrollCollate and prepare payroll data for submission to external accountants.Liaise with payroll providers to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time for a small workforce.Cash & Bank ManagementPerform regular bank reconciliations and maintain precise cash records.Monitor and manage cash receipts and payments to ensure effective cash flow control.Take responsibility for the payment run process, ensuring that all payments follow appropriate controls and approval workflows.Manage purchase order (PO) processes and authorisation workflows to support financial governance.Additional ResponsibilitiesContribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives within the finance function and across the wider business.Competencies and Experience:Systems & Technical SkillsExcel - Proficient (essential; including data analysis and reporting)Microsoft Word - ProficientExperience with accounting systems:Dynamics 365 (proficient)Sage (desirable; legacy system exposure)Skills & Experience RequiredCIMA qualified / part-qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE)Minimum of five years' accounting experience, ideally in a similar capacityStrong understanding of month-end processes and financial reportingExceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracyAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectivelyExcellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with non-finance stakeholdersDesirable AttributesExperience in a group reporting environmentExposure to multi-currency or intercompany accountingPrevious involvement in process improvements or system changesSalary: 35,000 - 45,000 £Originally posted on Himalayas
