Network Support Engineer

Salary: £65,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements

: We require 1-2 years of experience in a SOC, IT support, networking, or a similar technical role.We need strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, and packet analysis.We value solid troubleshooting instincts and the ability to diagnose issues in live environments.We need the ability to prioritise work, stay organised, and communicate clearly under pressure.We require comfort working in a fast-paced, shift-based environment, including nights and weekends.Nice to have: experience with SIEM tools, with Splunk preferred.Nice to have: working knowledge of DDoS attacks and network security concepts.Nice to have: familiarity with virtualisation technologies such as KVM and ESXi.Nice to have: Linux knowledge and basic scripting or automation skills, such as Python or Bash.Nice to have: industry certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, or CyberOps. Responsibilities: We triage and resolve security incidents and customer tickets in a live production environment.We provide 1st and 2nd line support for network and security issues.We monitor, analyse, and investigate network traffic and emerging threats, including active DDoS activity.We support customer maintenance, upgrades, and technical communications.We contribute to incident response and post-incident reviews to improve our detection and mitigation playbooks.We work within ITIL processes, including Incident, Change, Problem, and Service Request management.We document procedures, grow our SOC knowledge base, and share learning with the team.We continuously develop our expertise across cybersecurity and networking.
