Commis Chef Apprentice

You will be working for a medium size employee owned Cornish Food Retailer. In store we have a kitchen that produces food from scratch for the in-store café and deli counter. The job role will include the following

Key Responsibilities

: Assist in preparing and cooking food in our café kitchen to the highest standards, using Cornish produce, to be sold in our café and from the counters in our store. Learn traditional and modern cooking techniques under expert guidance, following a daily prep list and assisting the team on service with cooking to order. Following training and under guidance, you will learn how to operate and use the kitchen equipment and develop your knife skills.

Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic working environment in line with food safety standards. Support the team with stock rotation, reducing wastage and daily operational tasks.
