About the Role
You will assess and manage patients exploring cannabis based medicines, making the clinical call on whether treatment is appropriate and managing their care from there. This is still a young field. The evidence base is growing, best practice is being written in real time, and you will have a genuine hand in shaping it.You do not need experience with cannabis based medicines.
You need sound clinical judgement, an open mind and an interest in doing things differently. We provide full specialist training, and our multidisciplinary model means you are never working in isolation. Nurses and pharmacists handle pre consultation and follow up tasks, so your time is spent where it matters: with patients.What you will be doing:Providing high quality care for patients seeking medical cannabis treatmentConducting patient consultations, including assessment and ongoing managementContributing to clinical outcome data collection to support evidence based practiceSupporting clinical governance and maintaining robust standards of patient careWorking closely within a multidisciplinary team of nurses and pharmacistsTaking part in ongoing training and development, including bespoke specialist training in cannabis based medicines (CBPMs)What you need:Full GMC RegistrationCompletion of Specialist Training (CCST/CCT) or equivalent certificationOn the GMC Specialist Register for NeurologyA genuine interest in alternative therapiesWillingness to participate in data collection and reporting
