Role Title: Autodesk Fusion 360 SpecialistRole Type: ContractorLocation: Remotemicro1 is engaging Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialists to contribute expertise on a high-impact customer project focused on advanced parametric CAD modeling. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input.
No prior experience in AI is required - your domain knowledge is what matters.Scope of Work Develop fully parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies based on detailed written briefs, emphasizing robust sketching, constraints, and feature trees. Edit and update existing parametric CAD models to reflect evolving
Requirements
, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with specifications. Audit and review CAD models for dimensional accuracy, tolerance application, and alignment with design intent, calling out any gaps or deviations. Support AI model training by delivering consistent, high-quality CAD data and clear documentation of design decisions.
Apply deep working knowledge of manufacturing processes - such as injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, and casting/forging - to optimize designs for production. Communicate design rationale, feedback, and technical insights with clarity - both in writing and verbally - in support of collaboration and continuous project improvement. Preferred
Qualifications
Extensive hands-on experience with parametric CAD platforms (ideally FreeCAD, with strong proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Inventor acceptable). Proven application of GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent) in real-world projects. Demonstrated DFM expertise across at least 2-3 manufacturing processes relevant to the project scope.
4+ years of applied experience for model editing tasks; 10+ years for complex model creation assignments. Proven ability to tackle assembly-level modeling, not just single-part tasks. Experience in reverse engineering workflows, such as scan-to-CAD or point cloud conversions, is highly valued.
Familiarity with CAD automation or scripting (e.g., Python, iLogic, NX Open, VBA) considered a strong plus for automating and standardizing workflows. Originally posted on Himalayas
