We are growing faster than our support structure can keep up. Currently, too many decisions depend on too few people - and our account managers need someone to lead them, not just someone above them. That's why we're expanding the level of key account managers.
You will take on your own team and your own customer portfolio - and help shape how support at MAILODY works in the future. We say openly: This role is currently the most demanding in the company. You get pressure from above (growth goals) and from below (a team that is just getting used to things).
We know this, we won't leave you alone with it - but we won't pretend it's comfortable either. Tasks Leadership You lead 3-5 account managers professionally and disciplinarily. You lead weekly 1:1s according to a clear structure (progress / problems / plans) and are responsible for the health of your team.
You actively develop your people - training, feedback, structured induction. Customers You are responsible for the development and results of your own customer portfolio (guideline 6-8 accounts, only our most demanding customers). The day-to-day business lies with your AMs.
You are a valued contact at the senior decision-making level of your customers and actively place topics in customer calls. You identify churn risks early, decide on the countermeasures for your team and turn at-risk accounts back into growth. Professionalism & Processes You are the technical fallback level of your team - you have a broad command of Klaviyo and CRM architecture.
You coach your AMs professionally and build their skills instead of just answering questions. You own a company-wide process around our employees (e.g. onboarding or offboarding). You coordinate standards with the other key account managers and actively share learnings.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-4 years experience in email marketing or CRM; ideally part of it in an agency or in e-commerce. Deep practice in Klaviyo or a comparable system (Braze, Emarsys, Bloomreach, Salesforce Marketing Cloud). You built complex set-ups yourself, not just accompanied them.
First leadership or mentoring experience - you have had responsibility for the work of others before. It doesn't have to have been disciplinary. Security in customer contact at decision-making level - you have already spoken to management or marketing management at eye level.
German at a native level and good English, both written and oral. Residence in Germany (mandatory for tax and social security purposes). And what we wish for, but do not require: You give feedback directly and accept it in the same way.
You ask the why behind a customer's numbers. You don't wait for someone to give you a trial. This isn't for you if... ...you see leadership as a promotion and not as a craft that you have to learn. ... you would rather do things yourself than hand them over and have someone else do them better. ... you expect a finished structure.
We’re building it right now - with you. ... you put off unpleasant conversations. Part of that role is that. ... you need structure from the outside in your home office. We work completely remotely.
Benefits
A team that’s yours - and the freedom to shape it. Clarity about your own path: We have a formulated level matrix. You see in black and white what is expected at your level and what the next step is.
Semi-annual development discussions with real feedback instead of forms. We award salaries based on a system, not based on negotiation skills. Management training with an external coach who has built management teams at Meta and in several scale-ups.
100% remote, everywhere in Germany - plus regular team offsites and workations. MacBook, additional hardware if required. 50 € monthly benefit card after the trial period.
Six sentences by which we measure ourselves - also as managers: Be confident. We don't need all the answers to start, just the grit to find them first. Be curious.
Let's be obsessed with finding the 'Why' to unlock the 'How'. Keep growing. Treat yourself like brilliant software: ship a new upgrade every month.
Be accountable. Openness over cosiness. We own our words.
Act entrepreneurial. Don't just do tasks: own real business impact. Over-deliver where it matters.
Promise what's possible. Then challenge these boundaries. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
