Working Student Planning Law & Research (m/f/d)

Your mission Syte's software helps developers, planners and investors make complex decisions about real estate projects. Now we are building an AI search that finds out for every property in Germany which planning law applies there: development plan, land use plan, conservation statute - everything that stands between an idea and an approved project. As a working student in planning law & research (m/f/d), you will support the product team from September 1st, 2026 in perfecting our AI agent.

With your expertise in planning and construction law, you will examine real properties and use them to develop the technical benchmark against which our AI must be measured.Your tasksPlanning law research and classification: You are responsible for the substance of the data set. For real properties, you determine which planning documents actually apply there: development plans, land use plans, conservation and design statutes and whatever else applies in the respective municipality. In addition, the classification according to §§ 30, 34 or 35 BauGB.Analysis and structure: You analyze and structure existing and new property cases and find reliable valuation rules.

This work forms the basis for an evaluation grid, which we set up together. Evidence and data quality: You create a database with all new research including sources and archived documents so that queries can be quickly tracked. Evaluation and feedback into the product: As soon as the data set is valid, it becomes a measuring instrument.

You check AI answers against your research, classify deviations and recognize patterns instead of isolated cases. What you find goes as concrete input to the product team and in the future to the agentic search team.Your profileCurrent studies: You are studying law (preferably with a focus on public construction law), administrative sciences, urban or spatial planning, geography or architecture in an advanced (Bachelor's or Master's) semester and have a current certificate of study.Experience in construction law: Ideally, you have already gained your first practical experience in the field of construction law or spatial planning - for example through project work or internships. Confidence in dealing with building law documents: You enjoy reading statutes, plan drawings, textual stipulations and council resolutions and can classify them confidently.
