About the Role

: We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our growing Finance team. Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager, you will be an integral part of a small team of four. To thrive at Smarkets, you will need to be open-minded, personable, and have a keen eye for detail, with the ability to analyze and communicate insights from data.What you will do:Prepare and process AP invoicesReview and reconcile bank statements on a regular basis to ensure accuracyPerform AP balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesReview and manage open Purchase OrdersEnsure all supplier accounts are reconciled against supplier statementsSchedule and process payments per company policyManage vendor payment queriesProcess staff expenses and approvalsMonitor daily cash flows, ensuring sufficient funds are available for operationsProvide weekly and monthly reports to regulated gaming authorities, ensuring compliance with regulationsSupport monthly Management Accounts and journal entriesAssist with financial auditsRole

Requirements

:Proficiency in ExcelExcellent attention to detailExcellent organisational skillsA strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast paced environmentA methodical and focused approach to working in a fluid and flexible work environmentGood communication skills1+ years of public practice experienceExperience with Light Inc. accounting software is desirableExperience with working with auditors - desirable but not essentialPart-qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) - desirable but not essentialDegree in Accounting or related business field - desirable but not essentialHave worked or are curious to work in an agile, start-up like environmentHave experience or are keen to work in a multi-disciplinary team/across different teams Our ValuesOur values are at the heart of everything we do - guiding how we work, collaborate, and innovate.
