About the Role
This is not a traditional accounting role focused on maintaining legacy systems.At Volta, you will help build the finance function from first principles, contributing to the design of processes, controls, and reporting in a business deploying capital at global scale.Working closely with the Senior Financial Accountant and the wider Financial Accounting and Transactional Function, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting while supporting the build-out of a scalable, best-in-class accounting environment across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Support the execution of the monthly financial closePrepare and post accrual, prepayment, payroll, capex, revenue, and FX entries, among othersPrepare balance sheet reconciliations for reviewCash, AR, AP, fixed assets, other payables and receivables, equitySupport transactional processingApprovals, audit trail, and clean ledgersIntercompany accounting and cross chargesSupport internal financial reportingAssist in monthly reporting packagesSupport the analysis of variance to budget and prior periodsAnalyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and risksAssist management with ad hoc reporting and partner with FP&A and other teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reportingAssist in building and documenting financial controls, accounting policies, and governance frameworksTrack capital spend and asset capitalizationMaintain fixed asset registerSupport external reportingPrepare U.S. GAAP (and IFRS where applicable) external financial statementsSupport external audits and act as a key point of contact for auditorsPrepare support for auditorsContribute to the implementation and optimization of ERP/accounting systemsAssist with tax compliance, indirect tax (e.g., VAT/sales tax) returns, and regulatory filings across jurisdictionsMaintain and enhance the general ledger and chart of accounts
Requirements
