In this critical position, you’ll ensure the safe, timely testing and commissioning of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) across the UK - helping deliver reliable energy solutions that keep the country moving.After a comprehensive training program, you’ll take ownership of projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and optimal results in line with Hitachi Energy’s world-class standards.Please note we are unable to provide visa support on this position.How you’ll make an impactTake ownership of the coordination and execution of on-site testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities by ensuring functionality and measurements are in accordance with the specificationsUse your working knowledge of Gas Insulated Switchgear to make informed decisions on technical mattersProactively collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects/services are safely and successfully deliveredEnsure compliance with safety regulations and implement necessary quality assurance measures to minimize project risksBuild relationships with our customers, pursue new business opportunities, and ensure a high level of satisfactionPrepare field-related reports, protocols, and updates on site progressLive the Hitachi Energy core values of safety, integrity, and take responsibility for your own actions to ensure the success of our business and its peopleYour backgroundBSc/BEng in electrical engineering or HNC equivalent with demonstrable experienceExperience in testing and commissioning Medium Voltage (MV) /High Voltage (HV) switchgear and use of associated equipmentCertification in GIS commissioning is desirable (Technical training is provided)Analytical and proactive problem-solving skills to handle project challengesHigh attention to detail and focus on handing over safe and reliable switchgearGood communication skills, ability to communicate at all levelsValid UK Driving LicenseQualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
